Prevention and treatment of periodontal disease: Gum disease is an inflammation of the gums that can progress to affect the bone that surrounds and supports your teeth. It is caused by the bacteria in plaque, a sticky, colourless film that constantly forms on your teeth. If not removed through daily brushing and flossing, plaque can build up and the bacteria infect not only your gums and teeth, but eventually the gum tissue and bone that support the teeth. This can cause them to become loose, fall out or have to be removed by your dentist.Latest studies confirm a close link between periodontal disease and cardiovascular problems.

Conservation with tooth-coloured composite fillings: The main advantage of a direct dental composite over traditional materials are aesthetics. Composites can be in a wide range of tooth colors allowing near invisible restoration of teeth. Composite fillings chemically bond to tooth structure. This strengthens the tooth’s structure and restores its original physical integrity. The discovery of acid etching (producing enamel irregularities ranging from 5-30 micrometers in depth) of teeth allows a micromechanical bond to the tooth and therefore good adhesion of the restoration to the tooth. The fact that composite fillings are glued (bonded) to the tooth means that there is no need for the dentist to create retentive features.

At Dentologicum we only use modern light-cured composites.

Endodontic Treatment: Endodontic therapy or root canal therapy is a sequence of treatment for the infected pulp of a tooth which results in the disinfection of the root canals and the protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion.

Inlays: An inlay is an indirect restoration consisting of a solid substance such as gold or porcelain fitted to a cavity in a tooth and cemented into place. This technique involves fabricating the restoration outside of the mouth using the dental impressions of the prepared tooth.

Crowns: This classic prosthetic treatment options provides the patient with a strong, functional solution to maintain a heavily restored tooth. By covering the complete crown of the tooth, a technically fabricated crown offers a reinforced support. They are hand-made by our locally based dental laboratories made from a variety of material that will be discussed in surgery prior to fabrication with regards to the individual patient`s needs.

Bridgework: In case of a loss of a tooth, a prosthetic technically-designed bridge provides one of the treatment options to reinstate function and aesthetics through a permanently fitted construction.  Equally as crowns, they are fabricated by our highly-trained local dental technicians in the material best indicated for the individual.

Partial and Full Dentures: We offer both full as well as partial dentures in our surgery.
